A senior at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Emma Whitner competes in the school’s NCAA Division I diving team, the Florida Gators. In 2020, Emma Whitner and 23 of her teammates received recognition from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American Team for their performance in the 2019-2020 season.
The CSCAA Scholar All-American Team recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence in both academic pursuits and athletic pursuits. On the academic side, honorees have achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.5. On the athletic side, honorees have participated in a qualifying meet or received an invitation to compete in the NCAA Championship.
In 2020, 24 students met these rigorous requirements, which represents the highest number since 2010 and the highest number from any individual Division I team. During the 2019-2020 season, the Gators achieved a dual meet record of 8-1, their best since 2007-2008.
